My Favorite Spring Thing - The Sights and Sounds of the Birds.

my favorite spring thingOne of my favorite past times is watching the Birds. They are just simply amazing to me.

The way the Hummingbird can fly and their love of Hummingbird feeders gives me endless hours of pleasure.

The Vibrant colors of the Cardinals are so enjoyable and highly visible when they fly in and around your backyard.

The Goldfinch is entirely unique. Both sexes become dull feathered in the Wintertime, but the Spring and Summer - the male becomes a bright, beautiful yellow.  When they flock to the finch feeder it is always in groups and they too, are such a delight to see and watch.

And then the Robins return. That rosy breasted Bird is hopping all over your lawn looking for food. It’s funny to see how “pudgy” they are when they return and before you know it they are thinner again.

The best part of the return of all the Birds of Spring and Summer is their song. When you step outside, music fills the air. The cold silence of winter is gone. BRING ON SPRING!

Hi, Bobbie.  We are also bird watchers and bird lovers.  A new bald eagle - a young one - has taken up residence in the area.  It is so majestic to see him soaring high in the sky!

I was so excited this morning when I looked out the window and saw a Cardinal for the first time this Spring!

Hi Fred, Wow, that is wonderful. A rare opportunity you have there.

We had one flying through last year and it would be great if it would take roost nearby.

Happy Bird Watching!

Hi Sharon, I know what you mean.  It is exciting. I feel like that when the Hummingbirds come back.

Hi Anita, The song, the flying antics of the birds, it's all so wonderful in the spring.

Mine too. We put the bird bath out again and this morning 16 robin red breasts were splashing away!

Bobbie~ I finally got myself a hummingbird feeder last year, but I think I put it out too late, I didn't see any hummingbirds and I was very disappointed.

Gabe, You wouldn't know that it is spring with the temperatures but seeing the birds sure helps us to feel like it is.

Larry and Shiela, What a great site to see. That would be wonderful.

Donna, That is discouraging I agree. However once you put the feeder out, keep the water freshly changed about once a week, and you will see them eventually. Normally you hear them before you see them because they are so fast but you can hear the sound of those fast wings before you see them. Be patient, they will come. Good Luck.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm just not very patient!
