National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is Sat. April 27th

National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 10 to 2pm.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is sponsoring another Take-Back Day!

prescription drugsThis Take-Back Day provides a safe way to dispose of unused medications.  This Day has taken place for 6 years now and has removed more than 2 million pounds of prescription medications from circulation.

As more and more prescription drugs are becoming abused this is a wonderful event for us to help protect our children and loved ones.

Visit their website (link above) for a participating location near you.

All the Police departments in our area are participating. Visit one of them this Saturday between 10am and 2pm.

Good morning Bobbie,

This is a wonderful way to get prescriptions out of the house that are not needed any more. National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day sounds like a sound practice!

Hello Bobbie,  I think they should have this twice a year.  I know lots of people will be taking advantage of this day.  Have a great day.

Bobbie~ I wrote a similar post a while back. Generally it occurs twice a year, once in the Spring and again in the Fall. (Just to answer Will's question.)

This is an especially good event as disposing of drugs into the ecology can be very harmful.

Hi Dorie, It sure is. Most of us have prescriptions that we do not finish or no longer need and this is better than throwing them in the trash or having them collect dust.
