Prepare for Frankenstorm Sandy This Weekend In The Poconos!

Hurricane Sandy - Frankenstorm in PAInstead of Things to do in the Poconos this weekend I'm writing to get everyone serious about preparing for this Storm.

Initial forecasts are that this Storm could be "epic" for our area.  We need to take it seriously.

Very sad actually since so many areas of Pennsylvania are just getting back to normal from all the devastation suffered from last years Storms.

On Friday I heard many people that were "downplaying" the severity of the Storm but today you can not ignore it.

GET PREPARED:

Batteries

Candles

Food and Water to last for at least 3 days

Prescriptions

Battery controlled radio

 

PENNSYLVANIA HAS ALREADY DECLARED A STATE OF EMERGENCY!

Forecasts are for 3-8 inches of rain over 2-3 days with strong winds, up to 65mph.  A wind speed not heard of in our area.

POWER OUTAGES WILL BE NUMEROUS.

Please, take the warnings seriously - get prepared and Stay Safe!

We really need to get prepared for the storm that is coming. It seems that it could be a strong one.The frightening them to me is that it is so big.

Barbara, That's funny because I was saying to myself as I wrote the post - Oh crap, where is our battery powered radio - been outside working all day on getting "prepared" Thank you. You stay safe it it comes your way too.

Betty, IT IS BIG - Very Big. I think the biggest that our area has ever seen. Very frightening in the size of it.

Bobbie- hope you have your water, batteries and all of the other emergency items you get for a storm.  Sany is huge, and even though it just skirted our coast, you should have seen the waves this morning.  Be Safe.

Thanks Kathy, Glad it only skirted your coast.  I sure am hoping it only skirts the PA border.  We have had so much rain lately, we don't need any more.

Its always better to be safe than sorry. especially when it come to this storm. It pretty big and pulling a punch. Be safe
