Everyday you read another statistic or hear another story of what the market is doing, of what the market is going to do. If you pay attention to the forecasters of these statistics at all you know that every market is different so let's take a look at our Market Trends. The Market Trends for the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.
Let's compare the stats year to date for the number of homes sold, month to month. These stats should give us an idea of where we are, although it may be a little early in the season, it is only May. In looking at these stats we need to remember the tax credit that was in effect last year at this time, definitely had an impact in our market area. To bad they did not do it again this year. I think every area could have used that additional boost.
Check out the graph below:
We started 2011 so strong, look how much January was up from the year before, January- and then February was almost even with last year but March was disappointing and then April too. Let's hope that by the time we can add May 2011 to the chart that it is going in a different direction than March and April did.
Stay tuned for future updates. Thanks for looking. Bobbie
